‘I’m Sort of Addicted’: Chris Paul Wishes for Another NBA Finals Experience Next Year

Through injury-plagued and unfortunate playoff runs, Chris Paul is dropping from winning a title by close margins. This year the veteran guard was finally an inch away from this feat, however, Milwaukee Bucks took away Paul’s aspirations this year as well.

The 2021 NBA Finals between Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks was an intriguing matchup. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. won the finals series 4-2 after facing a deficit in the initial games. And there, Paul was again struck with a shoulder injury. While it turned out to be saddening for CP3’s fans, the ‘point god’ isn’t giving up on his dreams.

Chris Paul is looking out for more after the 2021 finals run

It isn’t the first time that CP3 has found himself in this scenario. The last time he came as close to the trophy was with the Houston Rockets. They reached the Conference Finals but Paul’s left hamstring injury in Game 5 turned the series around. Eventually, the Golden State Warriors won that series and the 2018 title as well.

This year, Chris Paul has made his career’s first NBA Finals appearance and he’s already addicted to the atmosphere. He averaged 21.8 points, and 8.2 assists while shooting 54.4% from the field. As per ‘Time’, the 11-time All-star wants another run at the title. He told, “Now that I’ve got a taste of what that [NBA Finals] experience is like, I’m sort of addicted.”

When Phoenix Suns locked horns with the Milwaukee Bucks

Paul alongside Devin Booker, Jae Crowder, and Mikal Bridges had defeated the Clippers in the Western Conference Finals. Even though the Suns started with a 2-0 lead, Mike Budenholzer’s squad caught up to win it at the end. For the Bucks, the Greek Freak was their man of the series with the display of utmost dominance.

Suns’ Devin Booker and Chris Paul became an unusually renowned duo through the 2020-21 season. Their offensive abilities and Crowder’s defensive stance combined to form a strong side. However, things haven’t gone Paul’s way yet again. The 36-year old is still yearning to unlock his ultimate achievement. And this time, the guard is ready to fight one more time despite a broken playoff history.
