Sean Lock’s sitcom 15 Storeys High coming to BBC iPlayer after comic’s death

Sean Lock’s sitcom 15 Storeys High will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer very soon after comic’s death from cancer.

Stars including Kathy Burke called on the BBC to make the TV show available – and it seems it paid off.

The BBC has announced that 15 Storeys High will be on the streaming platform from later today.

Originally broadcast between 2002 and 2004, the show was created and written by Lock, who stars as pessimist Vince, with Benedict Wong playing his flatmate Errol.

Additional cast members included names such as Sean’s close friend Bill Bailey, Toby Jones, and Tracey-Ann Oberman.

The sitcom began as a BBC radio series broadcast from 1998 to 2000, with many fans eager to revisit the TV series after Lock’s death.

Comic Kathy previously tweeted: ‘My showbiz pal, Roisin Conaty and I had a massive love up about Sean Lock yesterday.

‘He was such a fantastic bloke. We’d love to see the absolutely brilliant 15 Storeys High put on the @BBCiPlayer please.’

She concluded her tweet by adding: ‘We’re not asking for much.’

It was announced this month that Lock had died aged 58 of cancer.

The 8 out of 10 cats and 8 out of 10 Cats Does countdown star was surrounded by his family, Off the Kerb Productions confirmed.

They said: ‘It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Sean Lock.

‘He died at home from cancer, surrounded by his family.

‘Sean was one of Britain’s finest comedians, his boundless creativity, lightning wit and the absurdist brilliance of his work, marked him out as a unique voice in British comedy.

‘Sean was also a cherished husband and father to three children.

‘Sean will be sorely missed by all that knew him. We kindly request that the privacy of his family and children is respected at this difficult time.’

Since the new broke, fans and friends have been sharing tributes and remembering Lock’s funniest moments.

15 Storeys High will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from tonight.
