“I Wasn’t Sure I Was Gonna Get Back”- Allyson Felix Admits to Doubting Her Chances at Tokyo Olympics 2020

Since the 2004 Athens Olympics, Allyson Felix has been raising the American flag at the mega-event. Felix is the most decorated US athlete with 11 Olympic medals.

Though Allyson looks flawless in her stride when she’s on the track, her journey has been full of bumps. Nevertheless, Felix is an unstoppable force and has beaten all the odds to compete for decades.

Allyson Felix had a tough path to Tokyo Olympics 2020

Two years after her stellar run at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Felix became a mother. While many thought she would take a break or retire from her Olympic career, Felix proved everyone wrong. Although she herself too had doubts about her returning. While she has been an advocate of maternity protection, getting back on track after giving birth was not a cakewalk.

Currently, the world-class athletes have been competing at the Diamonds League meet. At the press conference of the meet, Felix opened up about her self doubts to reach the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Talking about her skeptical thoughts, Felix said, “Yeah I mean that was always the goal, but I knew I had a lot of things to get over to be able to get to that point. There were some places where I felt doubtful I wasn’t sure if I was ever gonna get back to that form. But I had glimpses telling me it was there”
