Verstappen fans urged to behave during the Dutch Grand Prix

F1 returns to the Netherlands for the first time since 1985. The race is scheduled to take place as the second leg of the second triple-header of the season.

It’s an enormous boost for the title contender, Max Verstappen, as the race will take place in his backyard, and one can surely expect an electrifying atmosphere from the Orange Army around the Zandvoort circuit.

Meanwhile, Dutch GP organizer Jan Lammers has urged his countrymen to behave during the event and not to wail on for what happened at the opening lap at the British GP.

“Sport should unite people and we should not get hooligan situations like in football. It’s logical that everyone has their own preferences, but let’s deal with it in a civilized way. In such a way that we surprise Hamilton with our sportsmanship and hospitality,” said Jan Lammers.

“We are talking about a seven-time World Champion who can be compared to a Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. You have to welcome them to the stadium with a big round of applause and not judge them on one incident.” [h/t Planet F1]
