Family of Marine killed in Kabul blast are ‘disgusted’ at ‘incompetent’ Biden admin and say no US troops needed to die

THE family of a Marine killed in the Kabul blast are “disgusted” at the “incompetent” Biden administration and said no US troops needed to die.

Rylee McCollum, 20, one of the marines who was killed in the ISIS-K attack on Thursday, was a newlywed whose wife will give birth to their first child in just weeks.

His sister, Roice McCollum, told The Sun exclusively that her family believes the entire tragedy, which took the lives of 13 US service members, was avoidable.

“As far as Biden goes we are truly disgusted with the administration and how they handled the entire thing,” she said.

“It was avoidable and none of those Marines needed to be put in that situation. It was incompetent.”

She went on to describe her hero brother as an “amazing man” who always wanted to join the military.

“He wanted to be a marine his whole life and carried around his rifle in his diapers and cowboy boots,” she said.

“He was determined to be in the infantry and this was his first deployment.”

She explained that her brother was sent to Afghanistan when the evacuations began, and he was manning a checkpoint when the explosion went off.

“Rylee will always be a hero not just for the ultimate sacrifice he made for our country but for the way he impacted every life around him for the better … making us stronger, kinder, teaching us to love deeper,” she added.

Officials revealed on Friday that McCollum graduated in 2019 from Jackson Hole High School in Wyoming before joining the US Marine Corps.

He and his wife, Jiennah Crayton, just tied the knot in February this year having eloped in Vegas.

They were expecting their first child in just three weeks.

McCollum is among 13 US service members and dozens of Afghan civilians dead after an ISIS-K suicide bomber killed more than 100 people at the Kabul airport.

BIDEN FACING BACKLASH

President Joe Biden is facing increasing scrutiny as the US pullout in Afghanistan continues to erupt into chaos.

The president watched on Sunday as the bodies of the fallen soldiers landed at the Dover airbase.

He released a statement honoring the service members as heroes who “made the ultimate sacrifice.”

“The 13 service members that we lost were heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our highest American ideals and while saving the lives of others.

“Their bravery and selflessness has enabled more than 117,000 people at risk to reach safety thus far.”

The service members, who ranged in age from 20 to 31 years old, died while protecting an airlift of Americans and vulnerable Afghans being evacuated from the country.

The abrupt withdrawal from Afghanistan has allowed the Taliban to swiftly regain power, nearly 20 years after the US came into the country in the wake of 9/11.
