The US Open 2021 will kick off from today and fans seem quite exhilarated about the Grand Slam. It is the last major of the year and will be taking place at the Flushing Meadows in New York.

Interestingly, the US Open 2021 management has eased a lot of restrictions that were imposed on both the players and fans last year. In 2020, the organizers made sure that the players stayed in their respective bubbles and didn’t leave their place at any cost. On the other side, no fans were allowed to watch the match inside the stadiums because of the adverse situation of the coronavirus pandemic.

US Open 2021 management announces good news for both fans and players

Unlike last time, the US Open 2021 declared that there will be no restrictions on players and they can travel as per their wishes. They are just required to submit their COVID-19 report upon their arrival in New York and are not even required to quarantine even for a single day.

As far as crowd is concerned, the management announced that it will host 100% fans inside the stadiums this year. This is some great positive news for fans as they missed witnessing live tennis last year.

Recently, the US Open 2021 management just put one condition for the fans. Those above the age of 12 will have to show the proof of at least 1 vaccine dose before buying tickets and entering the stadiums. Children below 12 will not be required to show the proof but will gave to be accompanied by an adult to watch the live action.

Interestingly, it is not even compulsory for fans to wear the masks while watching matches. However, it is mandatory to wear them when the roof will be closed. Apart from this, there will be hand sanitising stations and HEPA filters to ensure the safety of fans. However, they will have to refrain themselves from asking for autographs and pictures as a part of the protocol.

Thus, both fans and players are quite excited about the Grand Slam. Will Novak Djokovic be able to achieve his Calendar Slam in New York this year?
