Dustin Johnson Finally Responds to Jon Rahm’s ‘Goldfish’ Comment

Last week at the 2021 BMW Championship, Jon Rahm carded an opening-round 64. In the post-round interview, they asked him how he was able to bounce back so quickly after a disappointing finish at the Northern Trust. And Rahm instantly replied that the goldfish is the happiest animal in the world because he has a 10-second memory. That was also the key to his mindset. Furthermore, Rahm identified Dustin Johnson as a goldfish on the PGA Tour.

Rahm, of course, referenced “Ted Lasso,” the popular Apple TV series starring Jason Sudeikis, about a small-time coach, where he is hired to train a professional soccer team in England.

Jon Rahm had said, “I must say, for all those Ted Lasso fans out there, be a goldfish. If you haven’t seen the show, you’ve just got to check it out. I feel like almost everybody knows.… Basically, the happiest animal in the world is a goldfish. You know why? He’s got a 10-second memory.”

Moreover, a reporter asked a follow-up question that, who’s the best goldfish on the PGA Tour? “Oh, without a doubt, Dustin Johnson,” Rahm said. “He has the ability to forget unfortunate moments better than anyone else.”

Meanwhile, on Saturday after round 3 at the 2021 BMW Championship, the media quizzed Dustin Johnson. A reporter asked him why goldfishes are the happiest animal in the world. But DJ didn’t know the answer. However, after getting to know that it’s a goldfish since has no memory, Dustin seemed to relate to it totally. “Well,” he said. “I don’t really have one either.”

Furthermore, DJ had a great BMW Championship, and after a long time, it looked like he is slowly getting his rhythm back. Dustin finished T6 with a score of -20 and was impressive throughout the week. And going into the Tour Championship, where he’s the defending champion, Dustin Johnson has a big gap to fill. He will start his event with a score of -3 and is seven strokes behind the leader.
