‘The World Needed to Know the Truth’: Coco Gauff Makes Fun of Brooklyn Nets’ Steve Nash at US Open 2021

A jackpot for discovering anything Steve Nash can not do. The man enjoyed an 18-year NBA career where he stunned everyone with his point-blank precision. Years later, the Brooklyn Nets hired him to coach one of the greatest trios the NBA had ever seen. And now, it has emerged that he is almost as good a tennis player. Phew!

Well, MVSteve has been a tennis fan and a recreational player for a long time now. But the news of him playing against 17-YO American teenage sensation Coco Gauff is still astounding. Yes, Coco’s recent revelation proved that the Hall of Famer had battled with her.

Coco Gauff apologized to the Brooklyn Nets coach for dominating over him

Recently, American Olympic gold medalist (400m hurdles) Sydney McLaughlin and Steve Nash showed up in Coco Gauff’s box. The occasion was the teenager playing her US Open 2021 opener against Polish tennis player Magda Linette under starry support. After dropping a set, Coco won the next two and eventually the match.

In an interview later, the interviewer asked if she would ever consider playing against Steve Nash. The 17-YO then revealed that she has already practiced alongside Steve and won, too.

Just a couple of hours into that revelation and the Nets coach responded back. The 47-YO accepted the claim and confessed to the loss. Take a look –

When Steve Nash practiced at Rafa Nadal Academy

Three years ago, Steve Nash hit the tennis court at Rafa Nadal Academy and brushed his skills. The global brand ambassador of TNNS Pro, Nashty Steve, showed off his serving skills as he casually served perfect flat balls. That he could hit single-handed backhands with absolute ease proved that he was not new to the sport.

Moreover, being a Canadian, he now has more reasons than ever to stay an even serious tennis fan. Just two years ago, Bianca Andreescu, a fellow Canadian athlete, won her maiden grand slam title at the US Open. Back then, Steve was among the very first big names to praise the Lou Marsh award winner.

But this brings up a question, why is Steve not in the stands cheering for Bianca? Help us know your opinion in the comments section below.
