Drake Pays Tribute to Tiger Woods With a Dedicated Verse in Certified Lover Boy

Away for months since his accident, the world seems to have started missing Tiger Woods. The icon is regarded as the greatest golfer of all time, his prime unrivaled even today. However, along with fans, Drake is also amongst those who seem to be missing Woods.

The Canadian rapper included Woods‘ name in one of his songs, a line dedicated to the 45-year old. Already having name-dropped few other celebrities, Drake’s use of Woods’ name was a pleasant surprise.

How did Drake honor Tiger Woods in his new album?

“Think I’m Tiger Woods, the way I’m teed off thе 17. And you know pockets on whatever, jеans forever green,” Drake writes in the song called In the Bible featuring Giveon – Lil Durk

PGA Tour also ended up tweeting about the lyrics. They tagged Drake and the album Certified Lover Boy as a hashtag- a gif of Woods trying to listen also attached.

While both icons haven’t interacted much, Woods’ niece Cheyenne and Drake made news for hanging out together in 2015. The former had attended a concert, meeting him backstage after the show.

Other artists Drake name-dropped in Certified Lover Boy

One of the other athletes Drake mentioned was Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokoumpo, whose surname he included in the track on the track “7AM On Bridle Path”. Sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was mentioned in “No Friends in the Industry”, while Kawhi Leonard made it in “Remorse”. Leonard also appeared in a music video alongside Drake.

Previously, rappers like Common, Chris Rock, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Mos Def, Nas, and Ice Cube have also name-dropped Woods.

While Drake’s songs continue to chart, fans are currently waiting for another update on Woods. Though the 15-time major winner is indeed in recovery, there is no news about his return to the course. He has been seen spotted a few times, not ready to return completely.
