Halo: Infinite- Latest Battle Pass Info Seems Rather Disappointing As it was Supposed to be Different

Halo Infinite is one of the most anticipated titles of this year. The game will be making a comeback after six long years. As you already know by now, the game will feature a brand new Battle Pass, and players will need to earn experience points (XP) to climb up tiers.

Now, 343 Industries has managed to catch Halo Infinite fans off guard by announcing that gaining XP and advancing within Halo Infinite’s Battle Pass will be bound to the game’s multiplayer Challenges. This has sparked a series of discussions among Halo fans and the community.

Halo: Infinite- 343 Industries Latest Battle Pass announcement has players concerned

For the uninformed, 343 has taken a different route when it comes to XP and rewarding players. In Halo Infinite, players will earn XP and climb up tiers by completing challenges.

In a recent post by 343 Industries, the team behind Halo gave us some insights on the Battle Pass. This post was the feedback from the initial Technical Preview beta organized over a month ago. Replying to the concerns raised by players about Challenges and progression, the company states “there is significantly greater depth with the Weekly Challenges than you saw in the Tech Preview.”

The company further said that the players can expect both Weekly and Daily Challenges in Halo Infinite that will introduce something on the lines of “Play X Number of Games” that will “repeat throughout the day” and “provide a regular XP drop for your Battle Pass just for playing matches and having fun”.

The team ended their point by saying, “Progression is an area that we will continue to improve and grow over time, and we’ll have even more to share here later this month.”

Hey Nick – playing and winning matches will be challenges, which will help players progress through the Battle Pass. Even though this means no per-match XP at launch, you’re still always progressing through challenges and therefore the BP. We’ll update the blog to clarify

This means that, while the developers are confident in their approach, they aren’t completely disregarding the community’s feedback. Which is a good thing. Halo Infinite’s success is crucial both for 343 and Xbox as a whole. Master Chief’s legacy and the love players have for the game both will be at stake and it is something both Microsoft and 343 understand.
