Sarah Harding dead: Fearne Cotton and Martin Kemp lead tributes as Girls Aloud singer dies aged 39

Tributes have come pouring in for Sarah Harding following the news that the Girls Aloud has died aged 39.
In a statement released by Sarah’s mum on Instagram, it was confirmed that Sarah has died after suffering from breast cancer.
The statement read: ‘It’s with deep heartbreak that today I’m sharing the news that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away.’
Sarah’s mother, Marie, said that she ‘slipped away peacefully this morning’, adding: ‘I know she won’t want to be remembered for her fight against this terrible disease – she was a bright shining star and I hope that’s how she can be remembered instead.’
Fans have shared their heartbreak over Sarah’s death, with stars also paying tribute to the late singer.
In a comment underneath the Instagram post, Fearne Cotton wrote: ‘Oh my gosh I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m sending your family so much love and strength. She was always kind and so much fun to be around. I’m very sorry for your loss. Prayers and love to you’
Martin Kemp shared a tweet expressing his condolences to Sarah’s loved ones, saying: ‘So sad, my heart goes out to all your friends and family and all your fans.. Rest in peace!’
Model Danielle Lloyd wrote that she was ‘heartbroken’, while Drag Race UK star Cheryl Hole said: ‘We will forever and always love you Sarah! Your beautiful spirit will live on forever! Sending so much love to your family.’
TV personality Olivia Bowen tweeted: ‘So devastating. Rest peacefully Sarah Harding, a star I grew up singing along to.’
In a comment posted on Instagram, Alesha Dixon described Sarah as a ‘bright shining star’, writing: ‘Rest in peace beautiful Sarah. Thank you for your love and kindness angel.’
Reality star Jessica Wright wrote: ‘This is so so sad. So so sorry for your loss and sending my deepest condolences. Another angel taken far too soon.’
Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel tweeted: ‘Ah no…. So sad to hear about Sarah Harding’s passing. F**k cancer man….’
In August, Sarah shared an update with fans on her health, revealing that the cancer had advanced to other parts of her body.
Sharing a selfie that she took from her hospital bed on Twitter, the pop star said that she had been diagnosed with the disease earlier this year.
