Fever Pitch: The Rise of the Premier League – Who is in the new documentary series and how to watch?

The documentary starts on BBC Two tonight (Picture: BBC/Story Films)

Fever Pitch: The Rise of the Premier League sees some of the greatest footballing names join forces for the new series on BBC Two – but who can viewers see in the documentary?

The new four-part documentary will chart the creation and evolution of the Premier League between 1992 and 2000.

Legends of the game will tell the story of how the most watched sporting competition in the world was formed.

The four-parter, made by David Beckham’s production company, begins against a time where there was a dwindling love of the game in the 1980s, which ultimately lead to the formation of the Premier League.

It tells the story of how Rupert Murdoch’s Sky took a punt on picking up the new league which ultimately worked out better than any could have ever hoped for.

Who is in the new documentary series?

Viewers will be treated to a full dose of Premier League nostalgia over the next few episodes.

There will also be plenty of contributions from other big names in the world of football media such as Jim White and Michael Crick.

Other players from the highly publicised period in the game set to appear include Peter Schmeichel and Paul Merson – and of course Beckham himself.
