Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac sure know how to drum up publicity.

The pair had us both shaken and stirred as they walked the Venice Film Festival red carpet at the premiere of their drama series Scenes From A Marriage and, well, if the footage of Oscar delicately kissing his co-star’s arm as they posed for photographers doesn’t get you hot under the collar then we have to insist you’re a liar.

This stuff is hot.

While images of the pair looking all kinds of smouldering – with Jessica in a ruby, glistening gown, and Oscar looking sharp in a classic tux – are enough to get us going, there is a ridiculously sensual, slow-motion clip of the offending moment doing the rounds on social media which has gone wildly viral.

And Jessica knows it.

The actress shared an image to Twitter today referencing the Saturday appearance and fans’ comparison of the pair to iconic couple Morticia and Gomez Addams of the titular family.

The chemistry! (Picture: Marilla Sicilia/Archivio Marilla Sicilia/Mondadori Portfolio via Getty Images)

It was a simple black and white image of The Addams Family characters from the 60s TV series alongside a devil emoji, as she captioned it with the release date of the pair’s series: ‘Sept 12th.’

And we’re spent.

Fans were losing it over the moment, with many believing Oscar was challenging ol’ Gomez Addams during the red carpet moment, seeing as the Star Wars actor had previously voiced the character for an animated Addams Family project in 2019.

While Jessica and Oscar have been close friends since their days at Julliard and are both married to, and share children, with other people, the chemistry was clearly too palpable for punters to handle.

want someone to look at me the way Oscar Isaac looks at Jessica Chastain 🥲

i actually don’t care that the oscar isaac and jessica chastain stuff is a ploy. they clearly took lessons from the bradley cooper and lady gaga school of putting on a SHOW for promotional/awards purposes and it’s working on me! i’m have a blast over here!

Many believed it was a sign audiences were longing for the perfect on-screen duo as one noted: ‘The way we have latched onto that video of oscar isaac smouldering at jessica chastain…as a society we are starved for on screen sexual tension.’

Echoing the same sentiments, another noted on Twitter: ‘Everyone convinced Oscar Isaac/Jessica Chastain must have something going on just shows we need to bring back romcoms and chemistry test. Stars used to be compatible and put on shows while doing promo!’

Keeping on the Addams Family train, one fumed, alongside many, many others: ‘I’ll never not be bitter we aren’t getting a live action addams family starring oscar isaac and jessica chastain.’

Speaking to AP about working with her long-time pal, Jessica said it was both ‘a blessing and a curse’ to play his wife in a remake of Ingmar Bergman’s classic.

Oscar agreed working with someone he was so close to presented ‘its own challenges’ since ‘you care about the person so much.’
