As summer slowly starts to wind down, the one silver lining for swapping sunshine and light nights is the return of autumn and winter TV, notably including Strictly.
Strictly Come Dancing has become a staple of cosy Saturday nights since it started in 2004, and this year will be no different.
The line-up for the upcoming 19th series has been released, with Olympian Adam Peaty, McFly’s Tom Fletcher, presenter AJ Odudu and actor Robert Webb among the famous names set to strut their stuff on the dancefloor.
But when will the new series of Strictly start?
When does Strictly start?
The sparkle is set to come back to Saturday nights very soon – as Strictly’s 2021 season will kick off on BBC One on Saturday September 18.
The series normally kicks off with a pre-recorded launch show, in which the celebrities are paired with their professional dance partners, and perform in a group routine for the first time.
This will be followed by the first live show of the series, on Saturday September 25.

The launch date was previously revealed by Dan Walker on BBC Breakfast, during a chat with Louise Minchin about her final show on September 15.
Dan said at the time: ‘I was just going to put your date in the diary.
‘I meet and greet the partner in a couple of days time, and actually the first show is on the 18th and then the live shows start on the 25th.’
