“It’s a F***ing Disgrace” – Tony Bellew Weighs In on Oscar Valdez’s Upcoming Fight

These days, controversies surround the WBC super-featherweight champ, Oscar Valdez after his tests came positive for phentermine, i.e. a central nervous stimulant that is banned by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association. Valdez has a fight aligned for September 10 against Robson Conceicao and many boxing pundits expected this fight to get canceled for obvious reasons. However, this bout is still on and it’ll go as planned.

This came in as a shock to several fans and fighters around the world. Recently, Tony Bellew went all out on the same and he gave an honest opinion.

Speaking exclusively to iFL TV, he said, “It’s a f***ing disgrace the fight is going ahead. What the f***’s gonna go on if that boy gets hurt? Someone tell me… If Conceicao gets hurt in that fight, that could be the end of boxing.” (h/t Michael Benson)

Valdez, who displays an immaculate track record, transitioned his focus to the super-featherweight division a couple of years back. With time, he put on some noteworthy performances and kept climbing the ladders of success at this weight class.
