Strictly’s Janette Manrara reveals Aljaz Skorjanec’s surprising wedding vow that keeps the ‘magic’ in their relationship

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Janette Manrara has revealed her and husband Aljaz Skorjanec’s surprising wedding vow that keeps the “magic” in their relationship.

The pair have been together since 2009, tying the knot in 2017, and consistently avoided the infamous ‘Strictly Curse’ despite both being stars of the show.

She has revealed a surprising wedding vow that keeps the magic in their marriage

Janette has now opened up about their relationship, and the reason that they are so strong could be down to this unusual hack.

She explained: “My favourite quote in the world, it’s on my mirror and I look at it every single day, is: ‘All our dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them’ – that’s by Walt Disney. I am a mega Disney fan.

“One of Aljaz’s wedding vows was: ‘I swear to take you to Disney once a year!’ – I’ve definitely gone once every year of my life except for last year obviously because everything was shut.”

Janette went on to Aimee Fuller’s Monday Mile podcast: “After we got married in London we had a minimoon and went as a whole family to Disneyland Paris for two days, and they give us this really beautiful like bride and groom room right by the castle, it was amazing.

“They opened the park 30 minutes early just for us to take a photo with Minnie and Mickey by the castle and I cried. I just love Disney because I feel like magic, it’s magical.

“One of my favourite things that is so good for our wellbeing as well is nostalgia, when you like take a moment to reminisce on beautiful memories or things that you’ve experienced in your life.”

Janette and Aljaz have been professional dancers on Strictly since 2013, but earlier this year it was announced that Janette had landed the role of host on sister programme It Takes Two instead.

She will not have a celebrity partner this year, or take to the dancefloor – instead quizzing the pairs on the weeknight evening show between live performances.

In April, Janette confessed that lockdown had seen herself and Aljaz fall in love with each other all over again, with the pair previously discussing their hopes to start a family.

She shared at the time: “We always wanted to have a baby, but 2020 has definitely made me say to myself: ‘You know what, Janette, it’s never going to be the perfect time but it’s always going to be the right time’.

“As a woman who’s a dancer, my body is my job so it’s scary to make that decision about the perfect time to start a family.

“I always thought there would be a perfect month and year, but what 2020 has made me realise is that perfect time is never going to come along.”

Former Olympian Aimee Fuller hosts the Monday Mile podcast which sees her walk and talk a mile in guests home town every Monday.
