This Guy Is a Joke” – Sergio Perez Ridicules Nikita Mazepin After Overtaking Him During the Dutch F1 Grand Prix

At the recent Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, tensions were high between Sergio Perez and Nikita Mazepin. The Red Bull driver was furious with the Haas rookie and revealed his frustration on the team radio.

As the two were zipping around the Dutch track, Perez was doing everything to overtake Mazepin. While the Russian driver was doing his best to block him, Perez eventually found the gap he needed and got past him.

Sergio Perez is not on good terms with Nikita Mazepin

As drivers do their best to gain a position during the course of the race, it is understandable they get enraged when things don’t go their way. So, it was no surprise to see Perez get mad at Mazepin for having such blocking maneuvers at Zandvoort.

After multiple failed attempts at getting past the Haas driver, Perez saw his chance to overtake, and he did so without any hesitation. However, the feud between the two didn’t end there; Perez came on the team radio to express what what he thought about the Russian.

He said, “This guy is a joke.”

How did Perez fair at the Dutch GP?

The recent race in the Netherlands was one full of obstacles for the Mexican driver. During the qualifying session on Saturday, Perez was knocked out in the first round itself.

And, on Sunday’s race, he found himself having a pitlane start as he made some changes to his power unit. He knew he would have to bring his A-game as soon as the lights went out to get a result for the Milton-Keynes outfit.

As the race came to a close at Zandvoort, Perez earned himself an eighth-place finish and four points. However, that wasn’t good enough to steal the lead from their arch-rivals, Mercedes, in the constructors’ championship.

With the race at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix in just a week’s time, the Mexican driver will hope to bring a better result, and help his Red Bull colleagues take the fight to the Silver Arrows for the 2021 championship.
