Zendaya has admitted that she refused to have her first kiss on camera with her co-star while on the Disney Channel show Shake It Up.

The star has been extremely reserved about her current relationship with Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland and continuously denied their involvement until last July the pair were pictured kissing in a car in Los Angeles.

Since then, they have also been snapped on a cosy date at music producer Josh Florez’s wedding to Karina Florez at The Vineyards, and we’re hoping for some #TomDaya red carpet relationship reveals when Spider-Man: No Way Home is released later this year.

But Zendaya’s history of wanting to keep her love life away from the limelight goes all the way back to her days as a Disney star.

Starting in 2010 when she was only 14 years old, Zendaya played the role of Rocky Blue on the children’s sitcom.

Alongside her best friend CeCe Jones, played by Bella Thorne, Rocky was a background dancer on a local TV show, with the series chronicling their rise to fame as well as their misadventures off-set and rising social status at school.

Zendaya’s only love interest on the show is Logan (played by Leo Howard) who she kisses a few times before they engage in a short romance.

But even at a young age, the actress knew exactly what she was not willing to do on camera.

Speaking to British Vogue, the 25-year-old said: ‘I remember being on Shake It Up and being like, “I’m not gonna do this. I’m going to kiss him on the cheek because I haven’t been kissed yet so I don’t want the kiss to be on camera.”‘

Talking about what her future might hold, especially with her relationship with her British beau, the Hollywood star is not making long-term plans about their milestones.

‘I’ve never been like, “I want to do this at this time, then from this age, I want to do this.” One day I’ll have a family, but I’m not trying to put a number on it, it’ll happen if it’s meant to happen,’ she said.

As the two will soon embark on the promo run for their next Marvel flick, we are expecting to see more of #TomDaya.

Before appearing alongside Holland, reprising her role as MJ in their upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, coming out in November, Zendaya will star opposite Timotheé Chalamet in Dune, coming out in October.

The star also has a second season of teen drama Euphoria is also on the way.

While the TV series Euphoria isn’t known for its light-hearted storylines, Zendaya has warned fans that the second season in particular ‘is not going to be easy’.
