CBS This Morning: Who is co-host Nate Burleson and who is his wife?

CBS This Morning has a fabulous new line-up as Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil are joined by former NFL star Nate Burleson.

For those who don’t know, the former wide receiver turned football commentator has been morning TV staple for the past five years thanks to his time on Good Morning Football.

However, September 7 so the star make his debut on the round table as Anthony Mason, who had co-hosted the show since 2019, shifts his role to a reporter on culture.

As well as his experience on the field and screen, Nate is also a savvy businessman and beloved father and husband.

Who is CBS This Morning’s host Nate Burleson?

Nate played college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack before he was drafted into the NFL in 2003.

The NFL star spent 11 years in the league, which included stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions.

The sports commentator then went into sports commentating after retirement, landing work with CBS as a studio analyst on The NFL Today.

Outside of football, he also worked as a New York correspondent role for Extra.

Nate also co-owns several fashion companies and restaurants.

Who is Nate Burleson’s wife?

Nate is married to his college sweetheart Atoya after they tied the knot in 2003.

The sports couple share three children, their sons Nathanial and Nehemiah and their daughter Mia Pearl.

She attended the University of Nevada on a track and field scholarship, winning a championship with her track team.

Atoya is now a co-host and CEO of Inside Lines Podcast alongside Tia Avril – the wife of former NFL defensive end Clifford ‘Cliff’ Samuel Avril.

The duo discusses the sacrifices wives and girlfriends of NFL players make to help support their husbands’ careers.

When did Nate Burleson play football?

Nate played college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack before he was drafted into the NFL by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 2003 Draft.

He went on to sign a seven-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks in 2006, Nate was then picked up by the Detroit Lions in 2010 on a five-year contract, but was cut in 2014.

Burleson spent 11 years in the league, which included stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions.

He managed to set the Seahawk team record for most punt return yards in a single season in 2007, as well as career punt return yards.

Has Nate Burleson quit Good Morning Football?

Due to his CBS Mornings gig, Nate will no longer co-host Good Morning Football on NFL Network.

The show continues on with Kay Adams, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt, Will Selva and guest hosts.

Despite the exit, Nate has confirmed he will continue as an analyst on The NFL Today.
