Celebrity Masterchef returns tonight having whittled down the line-up to just eight contestants all battling it out to win the title – but who is in the semi-final?

John Torode and Gregg Wallace have had the very enviable job of trying out food whipped up by a group of famous faces in recent weeks.

The show’s line-up has included 20 celebrities who’ve all stepped into the coveted kitchen to try and make it all the way to the final.

However, with 12 contestants having now been knocked out, who is in the semi-final, which kicks off tonight?

Who is in the MasterChef semi-final?

Those whose food has failed to land so far include Strictly Come Dancing pro Johannes Radebe and internet comedic sensation, Munya Chawawa.

Eight stars have progressed through to the semi-finals which kick off tonight at 9pm, also available to watch on iPlayer.

Joe Swash

Joe is best-known for his role as cheeky chappy Darren Miller in EastEnders and is currently expecting a baby girl with Loose Women panelist, Stacey Solomon.

He was slated by viewers for criticising fellow contestant Will Kirk’s dish, telling him: ‘Because your chicken was so bad, I feel like there’s no pressure.’

But will Joe now have what it takes to make it all the way through to the final?

Su Pollard

The Hi-Di-Hi! and Oh, Doctor Beeching star – against all the odds – has made it to the semi-final of the competition.

National treasure Su hasn’t failed to keep the judges and those watching at home entertained during her stint.

Despite producing some questionable dishes in the initial stages, Su has gone from strength to strength during the process.

Bez

The Happy Mondays percussion and dance legend proved a huge hit in the kitchen after serving up some delights to John and Gregg.

He impressed with his knowledge of flavours and despite his presentation not always being up to scratch, he’s proved himself with some great tasting dishes.

Will Bez manage to continue to put some smiles on the faces of the judging panel as he enters the semi-final stage?

Megan McKenna

Megan has been seen on-screen in recent years as part of the core of the cast of Towie, during which time she had a high-profile relationship with co-star Pete Wicks.

Having shown a lot of skill so far, this is far from her first rodeo of being successful in a reality competition show, having won X Factor: Celebrity back at the end of 2019.

On what her downfalls might be as the process continues, she said: ‘I like to cook but I’m bad with being under pressure and timings.’

Melanie Sykes

Presenting veteran Melanie is best known for her stint on Let’s Do Lunch with Gino and Mel, alongside Gino D’Acampo.

Melanie is also loved for her Radio 2 show with comedian Alan Carr.

Despite having problems with her timing throughout the process, she’s managed to deliver some fantastic dishes and make her way to the next stage of the competition.

Dion Dublin

Football legend and Homes Under The Hammer host Dion has cooked up a storm so far, easily making it through to the semi-final of the show.

Dion already proved how much the opportunity meant to him as he even became teary-eyed after some particularly positive feedback from the judging duo.

He told them: ‘I got emotional because I didn’t expect that kind of feedback, it’s quite overwhelming.’

Kem Cetinay

Fresh from putting not one – but two – goals past Joel Dommett at Soccer Aid for the World XI team, Kem’s back on-screen tonight for Celebrity MasterChef.

So far, Kem has used influences from his Turkish-Cypriot heritage in his cooking, which inspired some really flavourful food.

He made it through to the semi-final after being labelled the ‘surprise of the competition’ by John and Gregg but after some viewers weren’t so impressed with his efforts, will he make it through any further?

Kadeena Cox

Paralympian Kadeena Cox won gold at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after storming her way through the T38 sprints and C4 para-cycling events.

But she’s still going for gold in this year’s MasterChef, having made it all the way to the final eight.

After having truly impressed with some of her dishes so far, it looks like she’s a strong contender to go all the way.

Celebrity Masterchef continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
