“He Is the Real Deal!”- Aljamain Sterling Heaps Praise on UFC Newcomer Paddy Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett has been touted as a potential future star of the UFC even before his promotional debut. And now after a stunning first Octagon appearance against Luigi Vendramini at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Till, Pimblett’s star is shining even brighter. UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamanin Sterling recently shared his take on ‘The Baddy’.

While Pimblett managed to earn a first-round stoppage as promised by him ahead of the fight, he had to overcome early adversity against Vendramini. He got caught repeatedly by Vendramini’s left hand and the first strike was a solid connection and could very well have out Pimblett to sleep. But, Paddy’s toughness and granite chin were on full display, to say the least.

“Paddy ‘The Baddy’! I think he is the real deal in terms of the package. Fun, talks a big game, walks a big game, performs. I think he continues to fight like that, great!” said ‘Funkmaster’ assessing Pimblett’s future in the promotion.

“But, let’s be honest here, how many times can a fight play out on that sequence and you come out on top? It can happen. This is MMA. But I think it’s good for the UFC. And he says he is the new cash cow. Everyone’s gonna be calling him out, I agree!!!” he added.

Sterling has made a fair assessment about ‘The Baddy’, one can agree. Nevertheless, the champion himself is set to return at UFC 267 as he takes on Petr Yan in a rematch in what will be the first defense of his bantamweight title.

Can Paddy Pimblett become a success story in the UFC?

‘The Baddy’ certainly has all the traits to become a generational superstar. However, there were some visible flaws in his game exposed that could be vulnerable against the elite contenders of the lightweight division.

Only time will tell how far Pimblett can go and if he can indeed transcend himself to one of the very best fighters in the world. But, the expectations are sky-high for the UFC’s new star.
