The phenomenal Leylah walked into the tournament as a qualifier. However, on her record-breaking journey, she’s tossed a few giants out of the competition. The 19-year-old made headlines, beating defending champion, Naomi Osaka, in a round 3 clash. Even when she faced former World No. 1, Angelique Kerber, Leylah played brilliantly, beating the German star in a thrilling contest.
Her most recent victory came against another WTA Top 5 athlete, Elina Svitolina. Once again, Leylah exhibited confidence, continuing her fine run of form, cruising into the semi-final round after a three set-thriller.

Amidst a few big names, Felix Auger-Aliassime has emerged as a fan favorite. Notably, his journey in the tournament has been nothing short of remarkable. He turned a few heads with his round 3 matchup against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. Beating the veteran in an exciting 5-setter, he set himself up for a clash against American favorite, Frances Tiafoe.
Even as the crowd favored his opponent, the 21-year-old remained unbothered, focused on winning the game. However, on his way to victory, he beat his opponent and won over the crowd. Felix triumphed in an intense 4-setter, beating the home favorite 6-4, 2-6, 6,-7, 4-6.

His highly anticipated clash with Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz ended rather unfortunately. Despite his fine form in the tournament, the 18-year-old retired mid-game, citing injury concerns.
