Venus Williams doesn’t feel pressured to settle down, despite what society tells her.

As Cosmopolitan’s October 2021 cover star, the tennis legend, 41, who does not have any children, said she’s in no hurry to change the way she lives her life.

‘I have a lot of friends who don’t believe me when I say that I like my life and I don’t want to change it for any reason,’ she shared.

‘I’m not desperate and they don’t believe me. They say things like, “You’re going to miss your window.” I’m like, “Please, relax. You might feel this way, but I don’t. I promise you I don’t.”’

The former world No.1 may not have her own kids, but she is an auntie to sister Serena’s daughter, Olympia.

On Instagram earlier this year, she said: ‘Lots of people asking me to go on a date. I’m just not, I would say, I’m undateable. That’s okay, I’m happy.’

She also clarified: ‘I get a lot of questions asking if I am married, am I getting married, or if I will marry you. The answer is no to all of them.’

In 2020, the sport star confirmed that she has ‘no boyfriend’ and is ‘not quite looking for one either.’

Elsewhere in her Cosmo interview, the athlete spoke about the pressures of being a world-famous sports personality: ‘As you grow up and mature, you realise you don’t have to be in any situation you find disrespectful. You can let people know what you find disrespectful.’

As if she’s not busy enough being a world-famous sport star, Venus and sister Serena recently took to Instagram to help fans with a workout.

The sisters clearly had a blast as they took viewers through their paces.

The 35-minute show was also for a good cause, as the sisters teamed up to raise money and awareness for Girls Inc., an organisation empowering young girls to become future leaders.

23-time major champion Serena, 39, joined big sister and former world No. 1 Venus, 41, for both laughter and weight-lifting, as the iconic duo giggled their way through a series of exercises.

Speaking about Serena’s daughter, Venus said: ‘So I got to the house and Olympia right away said, “Come play with me!” She jumped in and she got so upset that I couldn’t play because I was doing Instagram Live. She’s my boss.’

The October issue of Cosmopolitan featuring Venus Williams hits newsstands nationwide on September 14.
