Married At First Sight UK: Jordon Mundell denies claims he was in long-term relationship during filming

Married At First Sight UK star Jordon Mundell has been embroiled in claims that he was in a long-term relationship while filming the new E4 series.

The 26-year-old personal trainer, who is one of the 16 contestants on the dating show, has had a turbulent time since marrying Alexis in scenes that aired earlier this week, with Nikita blowing up at him at last night’s dinner party.

Since then, Jordon has been forced to deny allegations that he had a girlfriend during production, which took place earlier this year.

‘Hi everyone, there have been some claims about my relationship status that I would like to personally respond to,’ he penned in a statement shared on Instagram.

‘These claims are not true, I was very much single when I entered MAFS. I was previously in a relationship, which finished at the end of 2019 and the photographs that have been published are also from that time.’

Jordon concluded the post, writing: ‘I appreciate all your support and hope you enjoy the rest of the series.’

His post comes after a social media user named Rhiannon shared an image of Jordan and alleged ex-girlfriend, with the caption: ‘Imagine having a stunning Mrs of 11 years and disappearing to film a TV show to get 15 mins of fame.

‘Running back until it’s about to air saying mental health was the reason you disappeared.

Subsequent tweets from the same account, who claims to be the ex-girlfriend’s best friend, have alleged that the star was with the woman since she was 15 and that they had been living together.

Hitting back at Jordon’s claims that the relationship ended in 2019, they wrote: ‘My friend was at his nan’s 70th birthday party and some of the photos were taken just after the start of lockdown.

‘THIS IS THE BREAK UP TEXT HE SENT THIS YEAR. Production should have his mobile number which matches the one on the top of this.’

A screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation was shared alongside the post, with a message that read: ‘I’m not happy neither are you one of us has to finish this toxic relationship.

‘I’ve got a video for my own records of all the belongings left in the flat and I’ve now gone.

‘Please do not contact me friends or family. I want a clean break if you do continue to contact me I will contact authorities as I want to be able to move on in peace eventually.’

The text concluded: ‘Sorry to message over a text but we cannot communicate when we speak so good bye.’ (sic)

Jordon struggled to connect with his wife Alexis in recent Married At First Sight scenes, and even went as far as telling her she wasn’t his type.

He also declared he was interested in wife-swapping, should the option be available to him.
