“Soul Collector”: Andy Roddick Yet Again Pedastalizes Novak Djokovic

World No.1 Novak Djokovic recently defeated Matteo Berrettini to advance to the semi-finals of the US Open 2021. The Serbian legend played some really impressive tennis to win the match even after losing the first set. The final scoreline of the match was 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-3.

Novak Djokovic looked quite comfortable during the entire match. Even though he lost the first set, he managed to win 74% of his first-serve points and thus, made it really easy for himself in the last three sets.

Following his victory over Berrettini, former World No.1 Andy Roddick once again decided to have some fun with Djokovic. He tweeted a special message for him. Even though he didn’t take any names, it was quite clear for whom his message was.

“Soul collector,” wrote Roddick on Twitter after Djokovic’s triumph over Berrettini.

It is all a part of a recent happening and it looks like this is Roddick’s response to Djokovic’s latest comments.

What happened between Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick in the recent past?

After his pre-quarters match against Jenson Brooksby, Roddick complemented Djokovic and wrote that he first gets rid of his opponents’ legs and then takes away their souls as well. It was clearly his way of expressing that Djokovic is such a dominant player in the sport today.

In response, in the post-match press conference, Djokovic replied that he doesn’t take anyone’s soul. However, he agreed that he surely takes away the legs of his opponents and also thanked Roddick for his compliment.

The matter doesn’t seem to end as Roddick still believes that Nole is a sole collector. It is what he tried to reiterate in his latest tweet. It will be intriguing to see how Djoker responds to this one now.

Novak Djokovic will now face World No.4 Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals of the US Open 2021. It was the German who ended his dream of the Golden Slam and thus, the Serbian will be looking for revenge. Will he be able to end Zverev’s 16-match winning streak in New York?
