Tony Romo Pegs This Team to Be the Surprise Package in 2021 NFL Season

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered one of the worst seasons in 2020, with a record of 4-11-1. The Eagles failed to make the playoffs due to their bad performance in the NFC East Division.

Despite all the fuss that the franchise went through the previous season, the former quarterback turned NFL analyst Tony Romo believes that the Eagles might take the league by storm this coming season.

Tony Romo on Eagles

Tony Romo says he thinks the #Eagles could “shock” the NFL.

“I think they’re going to be a surprise team. They could shock a lot of people and go 10-6/11-5 very quickly. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they have a great season this year.”

According to a tweet by the Eagles Nation, Romo said, “I think they’re going to be a surprise team. They could shock a lot of people and go 10-6/11-5 very quickly. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they have a great season this year.”

Although the numbers don’t match up with this year’s new 17 game schedule, and no matter how much doubtful the statement may seem. His assumptions, however, might stand out to be true. The Eagles have made some radical changes this offseason which might show its true colors. Or shine as bright to leave others in a state of “shock”.

About to witness a new Philadelphia Eagles

One of the biggest changes in the team is the addition of a new coach. Nick Sirianni, the offensive coordinator in Indianapolis, was named the head coach of the Eagles, replacing Doug Pederson from the spot.

The Eagles have also named Jalen Hurts as their new QB1 after the departure of Carson Wentz. And including this, the No. 10 overall selection, DaVonta Smith hails the Philadelphia offense with his quick feet.

The Eagles are eagerly looking forward to the season starter where they meet Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta. The battle of these raptors will prove the credibility of the statement made by Tony Romo.

Even though the Eagles did not win any of their exhibition matches, it can only be said that great things have humble beginnings and the preseason was as humble as the Eagles can get. Their season starter is just days ahead and the Eagles are just waiting to take over whoever comes before them.
