‘You Just Lost an Opportunity’- Gilbert Burns Not Happy With Neil Magny’s Clever Tweet

Gilbert Burns didn’t seem happy with the fellow welterweight fighter Neil Magny’s recent tweet. Hence, ‘Durinho’ advised Magny to be a little more thankful the next time when an opportunity arrived.

The Brazilian fighter is one of the prominent names in the welterweight roster. He is currently #2 in the 170lbs division. However, ‘Durinho’ hasn’t entered the octagon since his last victory against Stephen Thompson at UFC 264.

Ever since then, the Brazilian fighter has been waiting for his next opponent. Recently, ‘Durinho’ called out #8 Neil Magny, “Starting to get that itch again ….but everyone that I call is busy @NeilMagny”

The American fighter quickly responded to Burns’ call out. He replied, “Spent all that time chasing clout! I’ve been ready!” However, the Brazilian welterweight didn’t seem satisfied with the way Magny replied.

‘Durinho’ gave Magny a witty reply and also a bit of advice. Burns wrote, “I don’t like the way you sound. You might just lost an opportunity should be more thankful next time.”

However, Burns might not stop calling out fighters until he gets his next fight.

What’s Next for Gilbert Burns?

‘Durinho’ is currently #2 in the welterweight division of the UFC. The (20-4) record holder was on a six-fight win streak before his title fight against Kamaru Usman at UFC 258. Burns lost the fight via knockout. However, Burns quickly bounced back into the win column with a victory against Stephen Thompson at UFC 264.

Colby Covington is lined up next for the title fight against Usman. Hence, the promotion might set up a Burns against the #3 Leon Edwards. A win in this fight will surely increase Burns’ chances for the title shot next.
