Rolling Stones tour manager Mick Brigden dead at 73 – ‘Dies digging grave for family’s pet dog’ in tragic accident

ROLLING Stones tour manager Mick Brigden has died at the age of 73.

He died following an accident at his home while digging a grave for the family pet dog, according to reports.

The music icon worked with stars The Rolling Stones, Joe Satriani and Bob Dylan, The Press Democrat reports.

Brigden had been helping to dig a grave for the family’s pet dog before his death at his home in Santa Rosa on September 5.

Satriani and Brigden began working together in 1988.

Paying tribute guitarist Satriani said: “I was on the East Coast doing a club tour, and Mick Jagger was struggling to find a guitar player.

“They’d gone through something like 60 guitarists. After the audition, Mick Brigden said, ‘Hello again. Let’s talk business.’

“Mick Brigden was a force to reckon with. He was just such an original.”

Satriani added: “I hesitate to say he was an old school rock ‘n’ roll manager because it doesn’t do him justice.

“He put an emphasis on doing things right and doing right by people.”

His wife of 34 years, Julia Dreyer Brigden, said: “He was so organized. That’s why he was so good at his job.

“When you arrived at the hotel, the cars were waiting and the venues were set up.”
