Anthony Joshua Slams Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury Over Twitter Banter

Anthony Joshua doesn’t seem to be a fan of talking. Instead, he appears to be a man of action who has denied showing extreme emotions in any of the build-ups to his fights. Far from trash talking and social media wars, ‘AJ’ has achieved most of his stardom with his impeccable displays inside the ring.

That said, he recently lashed out at Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury for not fighting each other. Whyte and Fury have verbally agreed to collide on several occasions, demeaning the other. However, the fantasy scrap is far from meeting official fruition. Thus, Joshua doesn’t see the verbal feud as a valid thing.

In a chat with IFL TV, he addressed several scenarios of his career. Meanwhile, the three-belt unified champion couldn’t help himself from shedding light on two of his biggest contemporaries.

Anthony Joshua said, “I love boxing of the old school… In this day and age, we are talking about Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury going back and forth on Twitter… Why don’t we just fight and the winner gets the respect? That’s what they used to do, they used to fight each other.”

Having beaten Dillian Whyte in the past, Joshua is yet to face Tyson Fury. That bout is on the horizon, but first, Anthony Joshua will have to defend his straps against Oleksandr Usyk on September 25. Also, he will have to hope Fury can conquer Deontay Wilder in order to set up the blockbuster all British clash.

Per the current scenario, the winner of Joshua vs Usk will face the winner of Fury vs Wilder 3 for all four heavyweight belts. So, Dillian Whyte doesn’t look favorable to compete against Tyson Fury anytime soon. However, the ‘Body Snatcher’, as a mandatory, is a legitimate name in the WBC picture.

In that case, Anthony Joshua’s stance can play a pivotal role as a loss to Usyk will relegate him from the top-tier title picture. In this case, Usyk will fight for the undisputed belt and Joshua could have to look for some other contenders. Hence, the only thing that’s guaranteed as next for ‘AJ’ is his fight on September 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
