Templegate vs Matt Chapman tips: Back Doncaster and Irish racing trebles at BOOSTED price TODAY

TEMPLEGATE takes on Matt Chapman with their top tips for this weekend’s amazing action.

The SunSport stalwarts have taken a look at the action at Doncaster and over in Ireland for the Champions Weekend.

Between them they have whittled down all the runners to three they think can land the spoils.

And best of all is you can back each of them in a BOOSTED treble on Paddy Power.

TEMPLEGATE TIPS

HURRICANE LANE can land another Classic win in the St Leger (3.35 Doncaster, Sat).

He was a good third in the Derby at Epsom when looking all over a stayer. But he showed his class with a gutsy late victory in the Irish version at The Curragh before hammering his rivals to take the Grand Prix De Paris at Longchamp.

The only potential concern is the quick ground at Doncaster but he looks as though 1m6f will bring more improvement and he looks hard to beat.

TARNAWA can give Dermot Weld a long overdue Irish Champion Stakes success (2.45 Leopardstown, Sat).

She was in stellar form last season with three Group 1 victories, finishing with the Breeders’ Cup in America. She has raced just once since then when landing a comfortable success over this course and distance last month.

She’ll be spot on and can see off the strong Aidan O’Brien challenge.

POINT LONSDALE looks hard to beat in the National Stakes (4.05 Curragh, Sunday).

He was awesome when destroying his rivals to take the Futurity Stakes here last time as he liked. The ground was soft there but he is was quicker at Leopardstown in July when he ran away with a Group 3.

Royal Ascot saw another victory with the Chesham Stakes again over this distance. He has a lot more to offer.

Richard Hannon once said he expected LUSAIL would be favourite for the Champagne Stakes.

That’s not the case now but he might have the experience and zip over his rivals as the Gimcrack winner in the 2.20 at Doncaster.

Like Templegate, I expect Hurricane Lane to win the St Leger in style.

But I will also have a little each way on YOUTH SPIRIT who is expected to relish the trip under Tom Marquand.

I expect ST MARK’S BASILICA to win the Irish Champions Stakes at 2.45 on Saturday.
