“This Conversatiuon Is Over”- Jan Blachowicz Shuts Down Questions Around Jon Jones Fight
UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz recently sat down for an interview with MMAFighting. The name Jon Jones, who is considered the greatest fighter of the division ever, came up as the chat progressed. Since Blacowica had become the champion at UFC 253, many have suggested that without a win over Jones he can’t be considered the true champion.
However, the Pole dismissed those clams as he suggested that Jones has become irrelevant due to his recent inactivity. And despite wanting to fight ‘Bones’ before, Blachowicz is not concerned about it anymore as he is concentrated on building his own legacy in a stacked 205 lbs division.
“I think Jon Jones, this conversation is over you know. It’s not making sense talking about him anymore. I don’t know maybe he don’t fight anymore anywhere, heavyweight or light-heavyweight, I don’t think so. I don’t know what he do, I forget about him you know. You remind me about Jon Jones right now,” said Blachowicz.
“Half year ago I was answering different way. I’ll fight him somewhere and beat him before I said. But right now, I don’t care about him. If he come back, okay. If not, who cares? Me not,” he added further.
Jan Blachowicz is set to return at UFC 267 against Glover Teixeira
Blachowicz will take on the 41-year-old Teixeira at UFC 267. The Brazilian has been on a tear lately having put together a 5-fight winning streak in the light-heavyweight division. He has earned 4 finishes in the meantime. His most recent wins have come against recent title contenders like Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos.

Whether the veteran can defeat Blacowicz, remains to be seen. The Polish fighter boasts a 5-fight winning streak himself. Since capturing his belt against Dominick Reyes, he has already defended it once against Israel Adesanya at UFC 259. It was a brilliant performance by Blachowicz as he stood toe-to-toe in the stand-up and was far superior when the fight hit the mat.
