“This Is Just Two Lads”- Anthony Joshua Normalizes the Hype of Him Facing Tyson Fury

A heavyweight scrap between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will rightly do gown in the history book for umpteen reasons. It can be the biggest money-generating bout in the sport. Moreover, the All-English clash will see two of the best heavyweights of the era collide against each other similar to what we had seen with Ali-Frazier, Tyson-Holyfield, and several more classics through the ages. Thus, the hype surrounding the fantasy fight is real.

That said, the potential title unification fight had come across materialization on several occasions. But is still far from happening in reality. It has teased the fans, even more, evoking them to contrast ‘AJ’ and ‘The Gypsy King to the fullest.

However, Anthony Joshua recently denied all the hype in a chat with IFL TV. With Oleksandr Usyk as his next opponent, Joshua shed his views on a possible clash against Tyson Fury.

He said, “I think it will happen. In the minds of boxing fans it’s a ‘mega fight’, I don’t look at it like that. This is just two lads – one from London, one from Manchester – let’s get it on… Politics, scrap all that. The fight will happen, 100%.” (H/T:- Michael Benson)

Meanwhile, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua can still compete against each other. They are just one win away from sealing the fight. Akin to Joshua, Tyson Fury will also have to defend his WBC strap. While a trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder will be the test, Fury cannot afford to overlook his nearing fight.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury- The Clash of Giants

The keenly awaited collision almost happened in August when both sides agreed to put out the contractual paper works. But Deontay Wilder returned from a long layoff and demanded his mandatory shot at the WBC world title, which is still under Tyson Fury’s name. American star Wilder, backed by the court, replaced Joshua to compete against Fury, a fight scheduled for October 9.

It urged Matchroom Promotions to host Anthony Joshua against Oleksandr Usyk, another fan-favorite contest. Now there’s a lot to see in the whole chain. If Usyk and Wilder shockingly beat Joshua and Fury, it will further twist the tale of the entire heavyweight division. Thus, it’s still way early to predict whether Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will ever collide in reality or not.
