“Constipated” – Ex-F1 Champion Pokes Fun at Lewis Hamilton’s Wait for 100th Win After Monza Crash

The Italian Grand Prix at Monza was another turning point in the Lewis Hamilton – Max Verstappen rivalry. The Dutch driver ended up on top of the Briton’s Mercedes after a crash that took both of them out of the race.

However, Hamilton is more frustrated with defeat as his last win came at his home race at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. Ever since then the Mercedes driver has been stuck on ninety-nine wins. And ’96 world champion, Damon Hill, fired some shots as his fellow countryman.

Hill reminds Lewis Hamilton about his pending win with a cheeky tweet

The Knight was hoping to grab a win for the Silver Arrows in Italy on Sunday afternoon. If he had succeeded in doing so, not only would he have regained the lead in the title race, but he would have also set a record for a hundred wins in Formula One.

However, that never came to be as Max flew on top of Hamilton on turn 2, taking him into the gravel and out of the race.

World champion, Hill didn’t hold back the banter and tweeted, “That 100th GP Win is being a bit constipated Lewis Hamilton!”

What did Lewis say after his crash with Verstappen?

It is no surprise that Hamilton is heartbroken about how his race panned out. Having been in a serious accident with his arch-rival, Lewis was feeling stiff on the neck, as Verstappen’s Red Bull was on top of him.

When speaking after the incident, he didn’t hold back, stating Verstappen drove into him. He said, “Obviously, we were just ahead, we had a bit of a slow stop, but came out breaking into turn one, I made sure I left a car’s width from the outside.”

“And, I was ahead going into the corner, and next thing you know. I guess Max went over the second kerb or something like that. He obviously knew at that point he wasn’t going to make the corner and he drove into me, so next thing you know he’s just on top of me. So definitely unfortunate and we’ll speak to the stewards after this,” Hamilton concluded.

Now, with a week off from the world of racing, Hamilton would aim to bounce back at Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix? Can he finally grab his hundredth win in the sport? Or will Max stop from creating history? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
