‘I’m Ready for Bloodshed’- Michael Chandler Warns Justin Gaethje Ahead of UFC 268

UFC lightweight fighter Michael Chandler spoke to Danny Segura at MMA Junkie in Florida against the backdrop of Triller’s recent fight card. ‘Iron’ Chandler was present to witness the spectacle that was Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz. Segura asked Chandler for his predictions for the aforementioned clashes and also asked him about his own upcoming fight.

Chandler makes his return at UFC 268 against Justin Gaethje in what promises to be a fight of the year contender. Both men are known for their violent streaks and it’s more than likely that someone is going down in their contest. Chandler promised fans of exactly that and he also assured fans that he wouldn’t take a step back against Gaethje.

Michael Chandler vs Justin Gaethje: How did we get here?

‘Iron’ Mike Chandler is fresh off a title fight bout against Charles Oliveira from May 2021 at UFC 262. It was his second fight in the UFC and he was on the verge of finishing ‘Do Bronx’ on the feet and capturing the vacant strap. However, the tide turned in round 2 and Oliveira mounted a comeback of epic proportions to stop Chandler.

On the other hand, Justin Gaethje hasn’t fought since UFC 254 in October 2020 and was the last man to ever fight Khabib Nurmagomedov in the UFC. While he found some success with leg kicks and close-range strikes, ultimately he fell to ‘The Eagle’. Gaethje was choked unconscious by the Dagestan native who finished the fight via triangle choke.

Both men will want to return to the title fight picture and for the winner, that will be their reality. Not to mention, the manner in which this fight is expected to play out will surely be compelling to award a title shot to the victor when it’s all said and done.
