58-year-old Evander Holyfield may have taken the wrong decision of returning to action. While the two-division champion and boxing historian has nothing left to prove, his recent loss to Vitor Belfort in the Triller main-event is a massive scratch on his glittery resume. Coming in with all his experience of a pro boxer, Holyfield fell prey to Belfort’s knockout prowess and got stopped in the maiden round.

The fight could have been dramatic if taken to the length. However, former UFC champion Vitor Belfort had no such intentions. He had arrived with a clear plan that he could materialize inside the ring by taking out ‘The Real Deal’. However, Holyfield seemed vexed about the referee’s call.

The loss has also put a dent in the potential trilogy fight between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. On their respective returns to action, both men have displayed contrasting performances. While Mike Tyson could go the full distance against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition, Holyfield suffered a KO loss against Belfort.
