Jeff Bezos, Jay Z Reportedly Looking to Buy NFL Franchise Denver Broncos

Vic Fangio’s Denver Broncos endured a tough season in 2020. They finished at the bottom of the AFC West division with a dismal 5-11 record. The Broncos failed to improve on their 7–9 record from the year before. They were also dealt multiple injury struggles that resulted in poor offensive performances, ranking in the bottom half in multiple statistical categories.

The Broncos are starting the 2021 NFL season cautiously. They are keen to improve on their displays from past seasons. However, it must be noted that Denver were one of the quieter teams this summer. Coach Fangio went out and brought in QB Teddy Bridgewater to challenge Jeff Driskel and Drew Lock for a starting berth.

But there might be positive news on the horizon for the massive Broncos fanbase.

Jeff Bezos and Jay Z planning Denver Broncos takeover?

Jeff Bezos is rumored to be interested in buying the Denver Broncos, per @byajperez.

The team is currently valued at ~$4 billion, which is only about 2% of his net worth — or equal to the median American family spending less than $2,500.

As per latest reports from within the NFL fraternity, Amazon founder and world’s richest man Jeff Bezos is reportedly weighing up a move to takeover as the new owner of AFC West franchise, Denver Broncos. AJ Perez of Front Office reports that the Broncos are set to be sold in 2022 and Bezos is a potential investor.

Apart from him, popular American rapper and hip-hop mogul Jay Z is also in the mix to buy the Broncos. Forbes recently claimed that Denver is worth $3.75 billion. But reports claim that the franchise would command an even larger price tag if put on the market.

Broncos’ late owner Pat Bowlen died in 2019 and the team has been run by a trust ever since. Current team president/CEO Joe Ellis said in August that Denver aims to have a “timely, responsible and orderly determination of ownership” in 2022.
