Nets’ Blake Griffin Explains How Kevin Durant Gets the Best of Any Defense

A season of vengeance is brewing in the city of Brooklyn as they return healthy this season. They have a lot of depth with their recent free agent signings, and rhe ‘Big 3’ of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving will go all out in search of a championship.

One of the signings was forward, Blake Griffin. He impressed in his first season as not only did he recover his athletic peak but also played his role as a versatile center. However, even he can’t help but be in awe of KD’s offensive skill set.

Recently, while on The Old Man and The Three, he spoke about how Durant is not affected by any defender that is placed on him.

Kevin Durant and his offensive supremacy

The talk of Brooklyn’s Game 7 exit and Durant’s Game 5 heroics came up while Griffin was on the show. While on that topic, Blake couldn’t help but talk about how impressive it is to see the ‘Slim Reaper’ pull off some of the moves he does.

Blake said, “Honestly, he does stuff all the time where you are just like ‘what.. how did he just?’”

He further added. “He just is so unaffected by any defender. I have never seen a player be less affected by somebody than Kevin Durant.”

This comes on back of KD’s Game 5 performance against Milwaukee in the Conference semi-finals. Brooklyn had just lost Kyrie Irving, and Durant truly had a challenge in front of himself. However, he overachieved any expectation and carried Brooklyn to win that game.

He ended the game with an all-round display of basketball. He put up 49 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks; all this without the likes of Harden and KAI on the offensive end. However, his efforts couldn’t go on all the way as he fell just an inch short of sending Milwaukee home.

Now, with all returning healthy, how dangerous are the Nets this season?

Brooklyn ready to go

The Nets were active in free agency once again as their hunt for a championship continues. After acquiring three of the most elite offensive forces, they added more firepower.

Free agent Paul Millsap made his way to Brooklyn. Even LaMarcus Aldridge has returned as he was cleared to play following his retirement last season due to health reasons. While they did lose Jeff Green, they have received another impressive guard in rookie, Cam Thomas who won Summer League MVP.

Hence, Brooklyn Nets are locked and loaded to go once again. With the star power and skill set on this roster, finals should be the only goal for them. However, it will not be an easy road.
