“Amazing Fairytale Story”: Novak Djokovic Sends Wishes to Raducanu and Medvedev Following Their US Open Triumphs

The US Open has been a roller coaster of a ride for the fans as well as the players. There were so many upsets that one could barely keep count. This tournament has seen winners that no one could have predicted at its start. Novak Djokovic lost to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the final. Who could have thought this?

Despite losing the chance to win a calendar slam, Novak showed his appreciation for the talented youngsters who won the trophies.

The world no. 1 recently posted a tweet to praise the unrealistic final that took place in the women’s category and also showered his respect for Daniil. On the women’s side, two teenagers who could have never thought that they would play a final of a major made it possible with their hard work.

Congratulations to both Champions. Amazing fairytale story on woman’s side with 2 teenagers competing in the finals. Emma you are fantastic Daniil, you absolutely deserve your first Grand Slam title Молодец! Аплодирую #USOpen pic.twitter.com/cw0h7UXNTN

The tennis community went absolutely wild at seeing the young talent outperforming the seeded players and making their place in history. Emma Raducanu created history after being the first player to win the Grand Slam after coming as a qualifier. Novak had a similar opinion as he specifically mentioned the young talents in his tweet.

Novak Djokovic Vs Daniil Medvedev

The final between Novak and Daniil was one of the biggest upsets. Nobody had thought that the 20-time grand slam champion could go down in straight sets, that too in a major final! However, Medvedev simply hit the ball with absolute perfection. The Russian player dominated the entire match to seal his one-sided win. The jam-packed stadium was in support of Djokovic, but that didn’t distract Medvedev. Instead, it served as motivation.

The year goes down with The Big 3 tied up with their Grand Slam wins. Nadal and Federer had withdrawn from the US Open, but they are preparing hard to make a comeback in the next season. Who do you think would be the first to reach the 21st Grand slam win?
