Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin breaks down in tears live on air

GOOD Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin broke down in tears live on air today.

The 39-year-old star, who has been hosting her daily bulletins from the Arctic with an armed guard to protect her from polar bears, started sobbing unexpectedly.

GMB weather presenter Laura Tobin broke down talking about her daughter

She was on a live video link-up with Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid

She spoke about her daughter Charlotte, four, with husband Dean, saying they had been separated for nearly a week.

Talking to hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid back in London she explained: “I’ve been away from Charlotte for six days.

“My producer Ruth hasn’t seen her daughter, she hasn’t had a night away from her.”

Pulling out a drawing she said: “My little Charlotte drew this picture of a polar bear and she asked me to give it to the polar bear. I’m obviously not because that’s very dangerous.

“But if I’m to come here when she’s my age there potentially won’t be polar bears in Svalbard.

“We were talking about what we can do – just understanding the reality and working together and not pointing fingers will help.”

She told the hosts: “I hope you’ve enjoyed what we’ve done because we’ve loved it even though I’m crying.”

Richard, 65, replied: “Oh dear. Are you all right?”

Many viewers at home were touched, with one tweeting: “As much as I disagree with Laura flying there, that last little segment she did had more impact on me than the guy that was on earlier EVER could .

“Absolutely heartfelt and not antagonising people.”

However, others were critical of the trip with one viewer writing: “There’s a climate crisis so lets fly a full camera crew and Laura to Svalbard so she can blub to camera to chastise the rest of us to do our bit.”
