The Kelly Clarkson Show came under fire on Monday after mistaking another boyband for superstar group, BTS.

Members of the BTS Army bombarded singer and host Kelly Clarkson with messages of diappointment and annoyance after a picture of new boyband Blitzers was shown on screen instead of BTS during the third season premiere.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin had been appearing as a guest when he began telling Kelly about the band’s collaboration with BTS for their new track.

Kelly congratulated the British musician as she gushed: ‘It’s called My Universe, and you did it with BTS, right? I love that. I love that you’re working with BTS.’

However, the inset photo that was flashed on the screen at the time saw viewers shown a picture of new boyband Blitzers instead of BTS.

Blitzers, formerly known as Wuzo Circle, is a K-pop group that debuted in May.

This is so disrespectful to BTS and the guys whose picture they used.
Just because they are Asians doesn’t mean they all look the same.
How can they be so unprofessional and uneducated? All they had to do is type BTS on google. Is that also too difficult to do for them?

Fans claims the mixup could be due to an article that appeared on The National which claimed the seven-member group is hoping to become the next BTS.

‘bts are literally the biggest band in the world rn, @KellyClarksonTV do better,’ one unimpressed fan wrote.

‘I didn’t know Kelly Clarkson had a show until they messed up BTS photo. [Unamused face emoji] [Woozy face emoji]’, one BTS fan quipped.

After seeing the messages online, a message was posted on the official The Kelly Clarkson Show Twitter account which read: ‘Thank you #BTSArmy. We’re sorry, and we’ve provided our stations with the correct image.’

The Kelly Clarkson Show airs weekdays in the US.
