Lewis Hamilton Open to Having a ‘Beer’ With Max Verstappen to Dismiss Silverstone ‘Fuss’

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have been involved in a titanic tussle for the championship in 2021. They both have been in many wheel-to-wheel battles with each other over the year. They have also come to blows too in Silverstone and recently in Monza.

But Hamilton mentioned he sees no reason he and Max cannot have a beer at the end of the day. He stated that on-track battles should influence off-track relationships.

I don’t see why I couldn’t have a beer with Max: Lewis Hamilton

In an interview withFormule1. NL, in the build-up to the Belgian Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver had the following to say –

“I don’t see why I couldn’t have a beer with Max,” said Lewis.

“Behind what we do and what we say, there is another dimension: the respect you may or may not have for each other.” said the 7-time world champion.

The Mercedes driver also gives his opinion on social media

Lewis Hamilton was criticized a lot after he came together with Verstappen at the British Grand Prix. The incident took Max out of the race while Hamilton won the race. Many people took to social media to criticize the Mercedes driver.

“What appears about me on social media does not interest me. Sometimes someone shows me something, and then I look at it, but that doesn’t go any further. By the way, I don’t agree that Silverstone caused more fuss than it used to. That’s how Formula 1 has always been.” said Hamilton on if Silverstone crash created more chaos online.

Despite all their on-track battles, both title rivals have kept it civil in their off-track events and have always shown respect for each other.
