5 New Contracts Awarded by UFC at Dana White’s Contender Series

In the third week of Dana White’s Contender Series 2021. UFC President Dana White offered UFC contracts to 5 more fighters following their amazing performances. This season White has been pretty generous with contracts as for the third week in a row, 5 fighters got UFC contracts.

The first contract of the night went to Jasmine Jasudavicius. Jasudavicius performed admirably in her fight and defeated Julia Palestra via a unanimous decision. Talking about Jasudavicius and why she deserves the contract, White said, “Yeah, I think everybody who got a contract tonight deserved it.”

“Jasmine fought her a** off. She literally just told me over there, ‘I’m here for the next two weeks. If you need me for the next show, I’ll turn around and fight. She’s like this sh*t will clear up in 2 days.’ So I definitely made the right decision on that one.”

In the second fight of the night, Jack Della Maddalena faced Angel Loosa in a welterweight fight. This fight was amongst the best of the night, as both fighters gave it everything they had. That fight impressed White incredibly as towards the end of the fight White stood up in admiration.

Talking about Maddalena, The UFC President said, “Jack, I think Jack is special. I think this guy can really do something here. I liked everything I saw.”

“Like I said, he didn’t show a little bit off; he showed a lot of everything. You got to see this guy everywhere. And obviously, Loosa is a tough, durable guy who kept coming and Jack had an answer for everything.”

Dana White believes everyone that got the contract fully deserved it

Throughout the night, various fighters put on some incredible performances which impressed White a lot. Therefore, when awarding the contracts, White was full of praise for the fighters.

The third contract of the night went to heavyweight Lukasz Brzeski, who defeated Dylan Potter via a 3rd round submission. Talking about Brzeski, White said, “Lukasz, you could say you know, but it’s not like we have an abundance of heavyweights around here so.”

“When you look at what the criteria should be to get in here, that kid did everything he was supposed to do. Kept coming forward was exhausted, kept trying to finish whether it was punching along the ground, secured the choke.”

“Whether you think the fight shouldn’t have stopped because the kid didn’t tap, he was gonna tap or go to sleep. There’s no way he was getting out of that choke.”

The last two contracts of the night went to Albert Duraev and Jailton Almeida. Duraev had faced Caio Bittencourt and defeated him via a round 1 submission. While Almeida fought and defeated the undefeated Nasrudin Nasrudinov via a 2nd round submission.

White talked about the two fighters’ performance while also mentioning Mo Miller and Brandon Lewis. He said, “Albert, how do you not sign that guy right? You do. Then you get to Mo and Brandon again, two undefeated talented kids that I think we’re gonna see again.”

“We’ll see them both soon. And then how do you not take Almeida. I mean, that was an incredible performance. That guy put on against an undefeated fighter.”
