“Did You Want to See Me Broken”- Sha’Carri Richardson Sends a Message to Haters

Sha’Carri Richardson certainly divides opinion. The American youngster has many passionate supporters, but she draws criticism from as many people too. After missing out on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the road to redemption has not been easy. The talented sprinter has faced setbacks on the track while maintaining her off-track persona.

Sha’Carri wore a phoenix inspired dress at the recent Met Gala 2021 event. She attended the event with her friend and Formula 1 legend, Lewis Hamilton. Posing in the dress, Richardson delivered a message for her fans and her doubters through Instagram.

Sha’Carri Richardson delivers an epic response!

The talented 21-year-old sprinter shared a photo of her getting ready for the event. Her caption was keeping with the phoenix theme of her dress, which she claims applies to her life. Richardson stated:

“Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops, Weakened by my soulful cries?”

“Yet Still I Rise!!!”

These words would have echoed through everyone’s ears. It’s quite clear to understand that she cannot handle the pressure. Constant criticisms can bring a person down but this is not new for an athlete.

Richardson has the ability to prove people wrong in the way it would shut them up the most, on the track.

Richardson has undoubted potential

Being in the top 10 list of the fastest women in the world is no mean feat. Significantly, she posted a time of 10.72 during the 2021 Miramar Invitational and shocked the world. However, things have gone down south from that race. Even though she posted a fantastic time to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics, she got banned by WADA for failing a drug test.

After that, she returned to the Nike Prefontaine Classic amidst much fanfare and hype. Anti climactically, however, she finished last in that competition. The sprinter finished fourth in the recent 200-meter race at the Diamond League meet in Brussels.

While she’s in a tough spot with regards to her performances right now, her confidence doesn’t seem to be suffering. Hopefully, Richardson can prove herself at the highest level soon.
