Gervonta Davis Spills the Beans on His Return to the Ring

Over the course of the next three months of 2021, some of boxing’s biggest prodigies and established legends will make an appearance under the big lights to allure their supporters. Gervonta Davis, one of the most iconic sensations of the sport, may pin himself on that list. Having last fought in June, ‘Tank’ Davis is expected to take on one fight soon.

For now, Davis holds the WBA super-lightweight ‘regular’ belt. Yet, there’s no news of him fighting at the 140-pound frame or going down to face some of his lightweight foes. Recently, he took it to Instagram to tease on his return to the sport.

“Fight date soon come..” he wrote.

Davis broke into the limelight a few months back when he fought Mario Barrios for his current super-lightweight strap. This was ‘Tank’s first fight in the 140-pound landscape and he had the backing of millions of fans.

Yet, the fight didn’t begin well for the undefeated fighter, as he was on the back foot for the first few rounds. As the contest progressed, Davis began coming out with his weapons and he used his power-packed right hooks to attack Barrios.

With that, he saw some success, and he began capitalizing on the same even more. As a result, the fight finally concluded in round 11, with Davis winning it via a slick T/KO.

Who will Gervonta Davis face next?

Gervonta Davis has enough rivals in the lightweight roster, but one fighter that can prove to be a stern opponent for ‘Tank’ is Ryan Garcia.

The duo has challenged each other umpteen times. But until now, there are no actual contracts or fight agreements inked.

Also, if Davis doesn’t get aligned with Garcia, then he might face the undisputed super-lightweight champ, Josh Taylor. But ‘The Tartan Tornado’ has a fight aligned. Hence, it’s difficult to predict who will Davis face next. All fans can wait for is the date of his next fight.

When do you think it will be?
