Married At First Sight UK’s Mel Schilling apologised to Franky Spencer in scenes that aired tonight after asking previously asking about the ‘power dynamic’ in his relationship with Marilyse Corrigan.

At the last commitment ceremony, the expert raised questions about him liking ‘command and control’, which led him to think she was calling him ‘controlling’.

Addressing the awkward moment and extending an olive branch, Mel told him: ‘Franky, I think you and I got off to a rough start last week.

‘I observed some of your body language and I shared that observation with you and I think you responded in a way that was a little defensive.

‘I’m sorry if that’s how you felt.’

She continued: ‘I guess one of our jobs here is to make sure we give you guys everything you need so you’ve got the tools to come into this relationship as open as honest as you can.’

Franky appeared to accept Mel’s apology and responded: ‘Agreed.’

The experts then muddied through Franky and Marilyse’s week together, with the couple sharing that they had a disagreement which led them to sleep in separate apartments.

‘We had one fallout,’ Marilyse disclosed. ‘It was just a disagreement and then I was like I need space, so I checked into a different room and went to bed and left Franky for the night.’

She added: ‘I don’t think Franky is controlling, he just has that side of dominance like you said. I didn’t know that side of him.’

Despite spending time apart, the pair did decide they wanted to remain in the process together another week and both chose to stay.

‘Correct answer,’ Franky said, when Marilyse showed she would be continuing to commit to the experiment.

Will these two survive another week?
