UNIQLO Bags the Sponsorship Rights for Roger Federer’s Laver Cup 2021

Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer has been one of the most successful players in the modern era. He was the first male singles player to reach the milestone of winning 20 Grand Slam titles. Over the years, he has impressed and won the hearts of many fans from all over the globe.

In 2017, Roger Federer launched the Laver Cup. It is a competition in which there are two teams, Team Europe and Team World. However, this season, there won’t be any of the big three stars in action. It would be the first time that none of them since its inception.

Roger Federer’s Laver Cup 2021 is soon to begin

As we focus on the Laver Cup, one of the leading global apparel retailers, UNIQLO, has been named as the official sponsor of the Laver Cup 2021. The event will be held in Boston from September 24- 26. Interestingly, UNIQLO will provide uniforms for all the staff, which includes all on-court roles such as the ball kids, chair umpires, and tournament operations staff.

As we shift focus to Federer, he began his season after the Australian Open. He played his first competitive event in Doha after more than a year. He was on the sidelines as he had to undergo two knee surgeries.

Federer competed at the French Open and made it to the second week only to withdraw before his fourth-round match. He withdrew because the matches were getting intense and he was playing at the highest level without much match practice.

Roger had a disappointing result at the Wimbledon Championship, losing in the quarterfinal. He has decided to end his season and undergo another knee surgery. We hope to see him compete on the Tour once again.
