The relationship between Ben Simmons and the Philly fans has gone down south. Despite playing for the franchise for a long time, Simmons has not lived up to the potential he showed from his early days. The playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks proved to be the final nail in the coffin. After facing backlash from the fans, Simmons called it quits; thus, the point guard was prepared to leave the team. However, recent reports have emerged, stating he may continue playing with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Moreover, most of the fans booed him during the playoffs because of his lack of conviction in playing basketball. The ability of Simmons is never in doubt. After arriving in Philadelphia in 2016, fans dubbed him as a special player with his incredible physicality. However, in terms of progression, his lack of shooting has frustrated the fans for a long time.

Everything went berserk after he passed on an opportunity to put the ball in the basket while being open. This sparked outrage from the fans as their hopes of him becoming a superstar faded away. With Simmons being vocal about leaving the team, the fans did not take it well as they want the player to get out of the franchise.
