Epic Games Store Finally Revealed the Next Free-Title That Will Be Offered in September

Epic Games Store loves to take on the role of Santa Claus in the video-game industry. The studio has offered a range of amazing titles like GTA V, Borderlands, Remnant of the Ashes, Civilization, and many more. These fantastic offerings are given out for free without any catch, and it has definitely helped gamers all over the world to deal with boredom introduced by the pandemic.

Ever since the Epic Games Store has continued, its practice even in 2021, with more games being rolled out for free. The studio shared the name of yet another title, ‘The Escapists’, the game that will replace the 2D racing title ‘Tharsis’ after September 23rd.

Epic Games store has given away 103 games thus far

According to a report by VGC, the studio has thus far given away over 100 titles in 2020, which collectively costs over $2k. Insider report suggests the community has provided a positive response to the establishment of the marketplace.

Thus far, the community has claimed over 749 million free titles that cost around $12 million to the company. This information has been revealed because of the studio’s ongoing legal discourse with Apple regarding Fortnite.

EGS has been on a giveaway spree for the past nine months with nearly 40 titles being offered to the community. Titles like Super Meat Boy, World of Goo, and Rime already required $50k to the studio. Meanwhile, other top-rated titles like Subnautica ($1.4 million), Mutant Year Zero ($1 million), and Batman Arkham Collection ($1.5 million) increased expenses even further.

Sadly, the case against iPhone makers did not go the way the gaming studio had intended, and this setback might cause EGS to incur more losses. Luckily, the studio already holds a roster of promising titles. And that will definitely help them combat the hurdle of how Fortnite may never be returning to iOS devices.
