“Have Faith”- Battlefield 2042 Developer Assures Fans the Delay Is for Good

The rumors surrounding the delay of Battlefield 2042 finally turned out genuine. The developers officially announced the same yesterday, pushing the release from October 22 to November 19. 

As per EA, this decision was taken due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic. While this news has unquestionably disappointed many ardent fans, Jim Hejl, a software engineer at EA (who is also working on Battlefield 2042), says that the game will be worth the wait.

Battlefield 2042 engineer assures players about the game’s state 

In one of his recent tweets, Jim thanked the fans and supporters for standing with the company and stated that Battlefield 2042 is a “solid” game. He went on to say that the project is not in any kind of difficulties as such, the team simply needs more time. You can check out his tweet below.

Hey, I really appreciate all the support from the community regarding the new 2042 dates. It feels good that you trust us.

And you should. It’s a solid game. This isn’t my first rodeo. It’s not a project in trouble. It just needs a little longer on spin cycle.

The details regarding the Battlefield 2042 Open beta will be made available in the days to come. According to the developers, “Given the scale and scope of the game, we had hoped our teams would be back in our studios together as we move towards launch. With the ongoing conditions not allowing that to happen safely, and with all the hard work the teams are doing from home, we feel it is important to take the extra time to deliver on the vision of Battlefield 2042 for our players.”

This is not the only game that has been delayed. Earlier, Dying Light 2 announced that they will be launching their new title in February next year. Sony’s Horizon Forbidden West also saw its release date being pushed to February 2022. Ubisoft’s guitar-instruction game Rocksmith+ also has been moved to next year.

However, the good thing to note here is that Battlefield 2042 will be coming out this year if the company doesn’t delay it again. Apart from Battlefield 2042, Activision’s new Call of Duty: Vanguard is also expected to launch in November this year.
