Ian Poulter Sends Strong Message to Team U.S. With Creative Mockery Ahead of Ryder Cup 2021

While the 2021-22 PGA Tour season has begun, we have the Ryder Cup approaching later in September. A biennial event between Europe and the USA, the Ryder Cup always brings along a lot of excitement for fans and players alike. This time, with teams decided, everyone is looking forward to the event – already debating over which side wins. Of course, the Ryder Cup is not without drama and a little banter. European Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter is as excited as anybody to defend the title at Whistling Straits.

His excitement, however, has resulted in some playful clips being shared on Twitter – which has only gotten fans and experts more excited about the Ryder Cup.

“Ole ole ole ole,” he wrote in the tweet, complete with a fist bump and a trophy emoji. In the video, a golf cart is passing by with the US flag attached behind it. In an explosion that takes place, the US flag changes to the Flag of Europe.

Fans too, enjoyed the small video Poulter shared.

“Love the ryder cup.hope you all play well Ian,” one fan wrote, while one pointed out that the Ryder Cup is now only a few nights away. In the end, some people also joked about the Ryder Cup, and what tournament the Europeans actually support.

Earlier this month, Rory McIlroy had begun his own game with the Team USA, trying to take a peek during a Team USA dinner. “I called in. I was eating in the same vicinity, so I called in and said hello,” Rory McIlroy said, smiling. He was having dinner at the same restaurant where the players were staying and just dropped by for a visit during their dinner.
